My line of work involves a lot of video editing, and the ability to edit without re-encoding is vital for time and quality purposes. sorry I don't have any first hand experience with smart renderer losing subtitles. Perhaps the same thing occurs with subtitles. In particular, I remember that BATCH would preserve all my audio tracks, including commentary tracks, whereas 'START OUTPUT' only kept the main audio track. In fact, if I need to edit MPEG2 and convert it mp4,instead of doing it with Video Mastering Works, I prefer to do the conversion/compression with Handbrake and then do my edits with Smart Renderer because Video Mastering Works often has problems with the audio going out of sync whereas with Handbrake/Smart Renderer everything usually stays in sync.įor those reviewers who have problems with subtitles, I found out that some of the problems that occur with the 'process immediately' option (when you press 'START OUTPUT') don't occur if you run the same task as a batch task (when you press 'ADD TO BATCH'). Smart Renderer is great for cutting and joining with minimal loss of quality. I'm satisfied with V5 but I may install V6 on my new computer and leave V5 on my old computer.
